My baby bigfoot

My baby turns eight in a week. So imagine my surprise when I started shopping for a new pair of dress shoes and couldn't fit her foot into any of the styles I had chosen. First I had to go to several locations looking for leather. I can't embrace "quality manmade materials" as they usually wear out before she can outgrow them. After I finally found some leather products at K-mart of all places, I brought Faith in to try them on. Nope. Not happening. She has outgrown children's sizes. Off we went to the ladies' sizes. I found a little slip-on flat that she tried on. "Fits like Cinderella's slipper," she said. My little girl is a ladies size 51/2. From now on I am challenged to find something cute and girly that isn't way too expensive. On the positive side, I might be able to find a better selection of tiny ladies shoes on clearance, but they don't have anything Hannah Montana in the ladies' department. That's probably a good thing anyway. Although she's still a big fan of character clothing and was lured right away to the High School Musical/Hannah Montana boots, those days are probably numbered. On the way in the door I had to lure her back from the bra section! How did we get here so fast?
