I am looking to connect with other moms whose kids have low vision or no vision. My son has been diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and has lost most of the vision in his left eye so far.
I have a 2 1/2 year old son who has low vision in his left eye due to Optic Nerve Hypoplasia from birth. I am also a kindergarten teacher for significantly developmentally delayed students. I would love to connect with other parents as well. It seems so hard to find parents of special needs who understand. I would love to talk with you..
In this aera it seems there would be a lot of parents with children who have vision issues - if only because of the Academy for the Blind on Vineville. We are having to rethink everything, from furniture placement to summer camp activities (I had hoped to have him in a wrestling class). And retraining my husband to not leave stuff lying around in the middle of the floor seems to be almost as big a challenge as anything!
